FCS Extension programs aim to improve the quality of individual and family life through education, research, and outreach.

What is Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS)?

FCS stands for Family and Consumer Sciences Extension. FCS programming focus on building assets of individuals and families to address problems faced across the lifespan. Family and Consumer Sciences Extension emphasizes well-being with a focus on human development, parenting, resource management, nutrition, health and leadership development.

At the community level, FCS Extension prepares individuals for community and economic development and activity. Professionals in Family and Consumer Sciences Extension provide the tools to help individuals and families to develop resources for strengthening families and building community for an ever changing society.

A Day at the Races!

Come dressed in your favorite raceday attire to enjoy lunch and guest speaker, Michael Bowen, founder of Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm. Program cost $20.  Register by calling the Woodford County Extension Office at 859-873-4601.

Over the next 10 weeks together, we will enjoy playing bingo, completing some simple exercises, and learning easy tips to help us eat healthy, cook healthier options, and make healthy choices when grocery shopping.

Free and open to the public.

Frankfort Chess Masters

Do you like to play chess and know how the pieces move?

Adolescents and adults are welcome to join our group to play chess, improve your skills, and meet new players. Chess sets and clocks will be available. 

Meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. 6:00-8:00pm.

A fun-filled weekend of craft classes, door prizes, food, and lots of fellowship! Everyone is invited. You do not have to be an Extension Homemaker. Classroom space is allotted for scheduled classes only. The $15 registration fee includes refreshments and a chance for door prizes. Individual class fees are separate and there is a $10 fee for lunch per day (optional). Please mail your registration with payment to Boyle County Extension, 99 Corporate Dr., Danville, KY 40422. See the Heritage Craft Camp information and registration package link below.
